The actors of the Valais tourism industry, be it restaurants, destinations or startups, need to continuously exchange various information about events, points of interest, specific offers, etc. At present, there is no standardized and automatable system to perform this information exchange.
Different tourism actors such as Valais-Wallis Promotion (VWP) would like to be able to easily collect this information from other partners such as tourist offices, for example, while being able to count on a certain veracity and freshness of the information provided.
In this context, and within the framework of the Digitourism program under the aegis of the TheArk Foundation, the Icare Institute was contacted in order to draw up the specification of a programming interface (API) intended to standardize the exchange of this data between tourism stakeholders.
